I made two recipes for October, a pasta and a soup from local foods.

Marcella Hazan passed away this week. I decided to make her Tomato and Basil Garlic pasta sauce from The Essentials of Classic Italian Cooking.

This was so delicious and simple. This recipe would be perfect for the November Cookbook Club theme: quick recipes!

Pasta Sauce

Fresh Pasta sauce simmering. I forgot to take a picture of the finished product.

Curried Cauliflower Soup from Vegetarian Times. The library has  both print and electronic issues of Vegetarian Times available to borrow.

Subsitutes & additions: 

  • coconut oil for olive oil
  • I added 2 tsps. of cumin
