Jessica from Rawlicious will be visiting our cookbook club again to give us tips on making our own Raw smoothies. If you want to find some raw smoothie books at the library here are a few. Rawlicious is doing a September Raw Challenge Sept. 16th – 20th if you wanted to register and find out what eating Raw is all about. You can also register for uncooking classes for $75. The Rawlicious smoothie menu can be found here. My favourite smoothie is their ChocoMinty which I enjoyed this summer on their patio while reading a book.
Other places you can have smoothies in town:
- Euphoria Elite – 515 Bryne Drive
- Jugo Juice – Georgian Mall
- Extreme Pita, Purblendz – 642 Yonge St. & 75 Barrie View Drive
- Orange Julius – 509 Bayfield St.
If you have time this weekend check out the Vegetarian Food Festival in Toronto.
UPDATE: Jessica, owner of Rawlicious first taught us how to make almond milk and then about various superfoods we could add to our raw smoothies. We all loved our chocolate banana and goji berry smoothies. They tasted like a healthy desert!
Club members brought in green smoothies, yogurt and berry smoothies and a few banana smoothies as well. We had fun sampling all the different flavours.
